After retiring, Crystal joined OLLI at the recommendation of a former colleague—and she has never looked back. In her first year, Crystal became an active member of the Community Engagement and Volunteer Committee, collaborating closely with OLLI staff on a variety of meaningful initiatives. She now holds a part-time position with the OLLI team at University Park, where she provides classroom support and leads the Community Engagement and Volunteer Committee. She is passionate about expanding volunteer opportunities and creating meaningful ways for members to connect, contribute, and feel a sense of belonging. Helping others and organizing projects has always brought her joy.
A proud Centre County native and Penn State alum, Crystal met her husband during their freshman year at Penn State. After graduation, they spent 13 years in the Washington, DC, area raising two children before returning to State College. Later, her family relocated to Pittsburgh, where Crystal worked with a residential program, before eventually making her way back to Centre County to retire and be closer to family.
When Crystal is not working, she enjoys reading, traveling with her husband, and planning their next adventure.
