Santa Pause for a Cause

OLLI is welcoming our members and Penn State York friends (students, staff, and faculty) to take some time to relax during the holiday season and join us for a casual, fun, and thoughtful pre-holiday gathering . 

Come watch a holiday movie (Four Christmases starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon) in your holiday pajamas (if you choose), and enjoy Panera Bread sandwiches and a popcorn bar.

We are expanding on the successful Welcome Back – Give Back event, and members are encouraged to donate items to “Build a Holiday Dessert” to be delivered to the Stewartstown Food Pantry.

Suggested items for donations include:

• Birthday Bag: Cake mix, can of frosting, candles, and an aluminum pan with a cover. Put the smaller items in a decorative bag.
• Boxed brownie mix and pan
• Packaged cookie mix
• Boxed quick bread or muffin mix
• Can of pumpkin pie filling, ready-made pie crust

Suggested baking ingredients for donations:

• Flour, sugar, confectioners’ sugar, brown sugar
• Boxed milk, evaporated milk
• Applesauce, peanut butter, vegetable oil
• Chocolate chips, raisins, oatmeal
• Disposable baking pans

All donations will benefit the Stewartstown Food Pantry. This is a “Choice Pantry” where the clients can select their own items. There is no income level restriction. They are open twice per month, serving approximately 150 individuals each time and also deliver items to residents of Westminster Place.

This event is free, however, please RSVP to help us estimate attendance and ensure refreshments are available for all.
